Privacy Policy

Overview

Chirp Go is a desktop voice-to-text application. Your privacy is fundamental to how we built the product. Audio processing happens on-device where supported and never leaves your computer.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Audio recordings: all speech-to-text processing is local
• Transcription content when AI Polish is off: your text stays on your device
• Keystrokes or screen content
• Personal files or documents

Optional AI Polish

Premium users may explicitly enable AI Polish. Speech recognition still happens on-device; only the resulting transcript text is sent to our API and Microsoft Azure OpenAI for short-lived cleanup. Audio, screen content, and surrounding documents are never sent. Requests use storage-disabled processing and transcript text is not written to our application database or logs.

Data We May Collect

When you purchase a subscription through Paddle:

• Purchase information: transaction ID, subscription status, and plan type, processed by Paddle
• Anonymous analytics: basic app usage events (e.g., app launches, feature usage) with no personally identifiable information. These may be collected to improve the product.

On-Device Processing

Speech-recognition models run locally on your computer. Internet connectivity is required only for subscription validation, support, app updates, and optional AI Polish.

Platform Permissions

Chirp Go may request the following system permissions depending on platform and enabled features:

• Microphone: to capture audio for transcription (processed locally)
• Accessibility: to register a global hotkey and paste transcribed text

These permissions are required for core functionality and can be revoked at any time in your operating system settings.

Third Parties

We do not sell your data. Payment processing is handled by Paddle, subject to their privacy policy. Optional AI Polish text is processed by Microsoft Azure under Microsoft's privacy and data-protection terms.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this page.
